Your signature

unfortunately contained a non-free image (the San Antonio Flag). Per WP:NFCC#9, such images cannot be used outside mainspace. Also, our goal is to reduce the amount of non-free material to a minimum, which is clearly impossible if it is increased every time you sign a page. As an aside, you also should avoid using a template in your signature; it can cause a lot of problems. (I won't go into the gory details here, but some of the potential difficulties and unintended consequences are described at Wikipedia:Signatures#Transclusion of templates.) Instead, you can put the content of User:Mnidaydwisww/sig in as your signature content under Special:Preferences. That has the same effect, and avoids the problems. Bonus points are awarded, however, for removing unnecessary decorative markup from your sig—it's best to be known and recognized for your words, rather than for your John Hancock. Do you mean substring is Ok? Or isn't it? —mnid (tc) 22:21, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
No, using subst: in your signature isn't permitted. Your sig should be entirely contained within the signature field in the preferences. (Ideally, one's signature ought to be appreciably shorter than what that box permits, but there's a hard 255-character limit above which one cannot go.)  Signature-changing is complete. And I also have a new signature! Mnid (Let's talk about it!) 00:54, 4 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
