Do not add personal information about other contributors to Wikipedia, as you did at David Rose (disambiguation). Wikipedia operates on the principle that every contributor has the right to remain completely anonymous. Posting personal information about a user is strictly prohibited under Wikipedia's harassment policy. Wikipedia policy on this issue is strictly enforced and your edits have been reverted or removed, not least because such information can appear on web searches. Wikipedia's privacy policy is there to protect the privacy of every user, including you. If other people elsewhere are making claims about the author in fact being a prominent UK journalist who is astroturfing Wikipedia and abusing Wikipedia to cast aspersions on his enemies, surely this is important information people should know? I did not name the author, but repeated the claims (with citations) found elsewhere on the Internet. How can this be against policy? Nic Doye (talk) 13:04, 12 July 2011 (UTC)

The "journalist" in question finally admitted to being the above user. I understand why Wikipedia came up with this position, but if facts (or allegations) are available elsewhere on the internet, not putting them on Wikipedia is stupid - it stops Wikipedia being "the source of all knowledge (even about itself)". Also, I have noticed that some Wikipedia editors (of any "rank") hide behind their anonymity and act in an impolite and power-crazed manner. And thus the spirit of Wikipedia was ruined by Wikipedia's systems, processes, insistence on anonymity and human nature. Nic Doye (talk) 15:18, 11 October 2011 (UTC)
