The Moor frog ("Rana arvalis") is a reddish-brown aquatic amphibian native to Europe and Asia. It is a member of the family Ranidae, or "true frogs".

They can be found occupying an area stretching from Central Europe to Siberia. Alsace, France constitutes the Western boundry of their territory. Their back legs are shorter than any other species of frog. The males have a song that sounds similar to that of the Agile Frog (Rana dalmatina).
