Two ships of the Royal Australian Navy have been named for the city of Toowoomba in Queensland.
The second HMAS Toowoomba (F-156) is an ANZAC class frigate, laid down by Tenix Defence Systems at Williamstown in Victoria on 26 July 2002, launched on 16 May 2003 by Ms Judy Blight and commissioned on 8 October 2005.
HMAS Toowoomba ran aground off Gladstone in March 2006 and was successfully repaired in Willaimstown in Victoria (Australia)
