Gola can refer to:
- Gola, an ethnic group native to Liberia;
- Gola, a British sporting goods manufacturer.
- Gola, slang for "Hola! How's it going?"
Florentines name and celebrate their love for food. They call it gola- "desire for food." Gola means craving and relishing a specific food. Someone who really appreciates eating is called a golosalo. Gola means "throat" as well as "desire for food." The throat is the passageway for both food to enter the body and voice to exit. The implication is that the actions are reciprocal. The food goes in and makes the person; the voice goes out and externalizes the person. Because gola implies both "voice" and "desire", it suggests that desire for food is a voice. This is a very important concept in the Florentine interpretation and experience of food.
