David Barton is an author and an American historian who analyzes the Church-State relationship in the United States of America. He is author of several books criticizing the "myth of separation" between church and state, and has appeared on numerous radio and television programs.

Barton is currently the Chairman of the Republican Party of Texas. He is also the president of WallBuilders, a non-profit organization based in Aledo, Texas (a suburb of Fort Worth) "dedicated to presenting America's forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on the moral, religious, and constitutional foundation on which America was built."[1]

The company publishes and sells most of Barton's books and videos. Such videos include quotes from the founding fathers of the United States talking about America's Christian heritage, and mostly about their founding fathers' view on the issue of Separation of Church and State(as noted above), which is a phrase from a letter that Thomas Jefferson sent to the Danbury Baptists concerning the relationship of the state and the church.
