Takeover Roc Nation is a global London-based independent record label and entertainment company, which is a subsidiary of Takeover Entertainment Ltd and Roc Nation. It was founded in June 2010 by American hip hop artist and entrepreneur Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Ghanaian British musician and businessman Kwasi “Tinchy Stryder” Danquah of the management company Takeover Entertainment Ltd.[1]
In June 2010, Jay-Z and Roc Nation signed a joint venture deal with Tinchy Stryder’s management company, Takeover Entertainment Ltd, to create a European record label and entertainment company. The new label was named Takeover Roc Nation. It handles management, merchandise, records and live bookings for its recording artists. Based currently in the United Kingdom, it publishes music through Takeover/Cloud 9 and distributes record releases through Sony Music Entertainment and partners with Live Nation, StarRoc/Stargate[2] and Three Six Zero Group[3] for all other aspects of the business.[1][4][5][6]
Takeover Roc Nation is currently headquartered at Tinchy Stryder’s Takeover Entertainment Ltd recording studio, in London, United Kingdom with a satellite office at Jay-Z's recording studio, Roc the Mic, in Manhattan, New York City, United States.[1]
