Athy Rugby Football Club was founded in 1880 and plays its home games at The Showgrounds, Athy, County Kildare. The club currently play in Leinster League Division 2B of the Leinster League and field a 1st, 2nd and 3rd XV's as well as a U19's and youth teams from U17's to U6's. The club also fields a Ladies and Mens Hockey Section as well as a Badminton Section. Membership is now open.

The club has contested 15 Provincial Towns Cup finals, winning the coveted trophy on five occasions:
