John W. Reynolds Jr.

John W. Reynolds (April 4, 1921January 6, 2002), a member of the Democratic Party, was an American politician and federal judge. He served as the 36th governor of Wisconsin.

John Reynolds was born in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was the state attorney general from 1959 to 1963 and governor of Wisconsin from 1963 to 1965. He was then appointed in October 1965 as a U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, and he was chief judge from 1971 to 1986. His wife the former Patricia Brody of La Crosse, Wisconsin was a graduate of Aquinas High School (La Crosse, Wisconsin) in La Crosse (class of 1942).

Reynolds died in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at age 80 due to complications from heart disease.
