Jamie Pierre was a professional free skier. Jamie Pierre set a world-record cliff jump of 255 feet (78 m) at the Grand Targhee Resort in Wyoming. Pierre's 255 foot huck on the back of Fred's Mountain at Grand Targhee is a world record. He skied away with a cut lip from being hit by a shovel when his partners dug him out of his 12 foot bomb hole. Google's Sergey Brin estimated that Pierre was almost at terminal velocity when he hit the ground. Pierre made appearances on Warren Miller films, such as Playground, the 2007 film as well as Rage Films and The Ski Channel's The Story.

On November 13, 2011, Pierre was killed in a slide near Snowbird. He was 30 years old.[1]
