Canada's Top 20 Countdown is a weekly syndicated radio program based out of Montreal, Quebec heard on stations across Canada and the World. The countdown began September 2009 and is owned and produced by Positive Number Productions.
The Countdown
Canada’s Top 20 Countdowns are weekly CHR/HOT AC, ROCK and COUNTRY Radio Countdown programs. Each program runs two hours in duration, and they count down the 20 biggest songs from coast to coast in their respective genres. Collectively they have a listenership in Canada of just over 3,000,000 weekly and the show is heard in 23 different markets by over 30 million plus listeners in Europe, across the Caribbean, on all Air Canada flights world-wide and on The Canadian Forces Network .[1]
In 2010, Positive Number Productions rolled out a Rock version of the countdown and also added a Country version.[2]
Canada’s Top 20 CHR/HOT AC, ROCK and AC are hosted by A. J. Reynolds. The Country Program is hosted by Julia Kilbride.[3]
Commitment To Canadian Content
Celebrating Canadian artists each week, Canada’s Top 20 has interviewed over 150 guests in it’s Canadian Artist of the Week segment. A platform for up and coming artists and charting acts all across Canada. The countdown maintains a minimum of 40% Canadian Content and prides itself on its commitment to up and coming Canadian artists by featuring an unsigned, independent artist on its show monthly.[4]
