Francis Maximilien Yvan Christophe Boulle (born October 20, 1988 in London, England) is a British entrepreneur, television personality and diamond heir [1] [2] of French, Norwegian and British descent.[3]
Career
Commodities and Diamonds
Boulle began sourcing diamonds for private clients base whilst at boarding school and went on to set up an independent commodity brokerage in his second year of study at the University of Edinburgh. He sourced brokered and traded precious metals and diamonds and facilitated the exportation and brokerage of soft and hard commodities from West Africa and South America to Europe and the Middle East.[4]
Television
In 2010 Boulle was approached by a subsidiary of NBCUniversal to participate in a pilot for a London based version of hit US reality TV show The Hills which became E4 reality show "Made in Chelsea".[5] In episodes 1-5 of the second series of Made in Chelsea Boulle's tongue-in-cheek storylines offer light relief from the male leads' unstable lovelives. Boulle's supposed difficulties in speaking to women are often contrasted with the easy success the other male cast members find with their female co-stars, and the ease with which they can communicate [citation needed].
Fundmine
In November 2011 Boulle announced via twitter that in response to the lack current financing options available to SMEs he would be launching fundmine.com a new type of intelligent investment platform in partnership with private art dealer Jacob Harmer. The website, set to launch in December 2011, allows entrepreneurs to dynamically sell their company visions to private and Institutional investors. To date it has atracted £8.7 million worth of backing. [6][7]
Political Activity
In May 2011 Boulle received global press coverage for establishing the website, www.sexymp.co.uk,[8][9] which allows visitors to rate the attractiveness of members of the House of Commons. On the website, Francis said that he wanted "to create a fun and memorable tool to help the British public get to know their Members of Parliament".[10]
