Roc Nation is an American management, music publishing and entertainment company founded by Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter.
History
In April 2008, Live Nation partnered with Jay-Z to create Roc Nation.[1][2][3] Roc Nation has a record label named Star Roc and an entertainment company named Takeover Roc Nation, located in the United Kingdom, and it also covers Europe; the company releases records with Sony Music Entertainment and partners with Live Nation.[4] After Jay Z listened to the mixtape The Warm Up, J. Cole became the first artist to sign to Roc Nation.[5]
