Stanway is a village near (now suburb of) Colchester.

It's located approximately 3 miles west of the town centre. It is home to the Colchester Zoo, the Tollgate shopping development and Stanway Comprehensive school. The local football team is Stanway Rovers. Stanway was named in the Domesday Book which was commissioned by William the Conqueror in December 1085.
