George Edward's Journal

George Edwards was a Lieutenant with the 57th Regiment, assigned to the Moreton Bay convict settlement in the 1830s. There is very little information about him.

Mt Edwards was originally named Mt Banister by John Oxley in 1824. It was renamed in 1828 by Alan Cunningham, in honour of Lieutenant George Edwards. It was gazetted in Moogerah Peaks National Park in 1966.[1]
