Hon Mr Justice Cooke, also known as Sir Jeremy Lionel Cooke (born 28 April 1949), has been a Presiding Judge for the South Eastern Circuit since 1 January 2007.

Career

He became a solicitor in 1973, and was called in the Bar at Lincoln's Inn in 1976. He became a QC in 1990, acted as an assistant recorder 1994-8 then as a recorder 1998-2001. He was knighted in 2001, when he also became a High Court judge, Queen's Bench Divivision, Commercial.

Among the cases he presided over was the 2011 Pakistan cricket spot-fixing scandal.

==Personal life He attended St. Edmund's Hall, Oxford from 1967. He was a member of Harlequins RFC from 1970-5. He has been vice-chairman of LICC Ltd since 1999 and vice-president of the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship since 2003.
