Formula, Vol. 1 is the debut solo studio album by American-born Dominican/Puerto Rican recording artist Romeo Santos, released on 8 November 2011. Santos has previously released six studio album as the lead singer of the bachata group Aventura.
Composition
Throughout the entirety of the album, Santos primarily sticks with the bachata sound that made him famous in Aventura. The production also samples elements of R&B and Dance music on select tracks. The album also features duets with American R&B artist Usher, hip-hop artist Lil' Wayne, as well as other hispanophone artists including La Mala Rodriguez, Mario Domm, Raulin Rodriguez, and Luis Vargas.

Chart performance
Formula, Vol. 1 debuted on the Billboard 200 and Top Digital Albums at #9 on 26 November 2011, and at #1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums and Tropical Albums the same week. The album managed four consecutive weeks in the Top 100 of the Billboard 200. The album has remained at #1 for its entire chart life thus far on the Latin Albums and Tropical Albums charts.
