Expand Networks, Ltd., based in Tel Aviv, Israel, is a provider of WAN Optimization solutions, currently run by Paz rimmer,in charge of finding new investors for the company.

Expand Networks is privately held. The company was founded in 1998; initial financing was provided by Discount Investment Corporation, The Eurocom Group, Ophir Holdings, and a private group of investors, including Memco Software founder Israel Mezin. Additional investors joined in subsequent rounds of funding. The company has raised over $95,000,000 since inception. [citation needed]

The company manufactures accelerators in physical [7], virtual [8] and mobile deployment deployment options.

Acquisitions

In August, 2005 it was announced that Disksites technology was integrated into the Compass Platform through an OEM agreement[2] Expand later acquired Disksites’ intellectual property, technology, and product line fully integrating into Expand Networks in 2006[3]

In 2008, the company acquired NetPriva, an Australian software provider for $7,300,000 [9] NetPriva specialised in developing software only WAN Optimisation solutions. The acquisition of NetPriva led Expand to deliver a SoftWOC [10]. This solution was launched in 2009 as the Mobile Acceleration Client, or MACC[11]

Expand Networks remains a privately held company, and therefore never discloses any of its trading figures to any external parties.However,with over 65000 appliances installed in 90 countries,Expand has one of the largest installed base of clients,in the Wan Optimization market.


in october 2011, the company has continued to attract interest from big industry players,and is seeking for a new funding round,with new sizeable investors,while currently carrying on its activities,in a 'business as usual ' mode.
