Assasuni (Template:Lang-bn) is an Upazila of Satkhira District in the Division of Khulna, Bangladesh.

Geography

Assasuni is located at 22°33′00″N 89°10′05″E / 22.5500°N 89.1681°E / 22.5500; 89.1681 . It has 40735 units of house hold and total area 402.36 km². Current member of parliament Dr.A.F.M Ruhul Haque. (honorable Health Minister ) written by (Firoz Ahmed) MARICHCHAP is an important river of Assasuni. Assasuni is situated South side and CHAPRA is situated North side of MARICHCHAP river. But the condition of this river is not well. KHOLPATUA was another river of Assasuni.kKapatakhi is an important river which situated around Dargapur union(g.m.arif)

Demographics

As of 2001 Bangladesh population census, Assasuni has 249244 population in total (Male 126399 and Female 122845. The average population of each union,mouza and village are 22659, 1793 and 1030 respectively. Average literacy rate (7 years and over) are 40.30% (2001) and 30.30% (1991) written by (Firoz Ahmed))
