Ek Tha Tiger (Template:Lang-hi, Template:Lang-ur; Template:Lang-en) is an upcoming Hindi language romantic thriller.[2] The film will be produced by Aditya Chopra and directed by Kabir Khan. This will be his third collaboration with the banner after Kabul Express (2006) and New York (2009). Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif were confirmed to play the lead roles at a press conference held on May 3, 2011 at Yashraj Studios.[3] Though originally scheduled to release on 1 June, 2012, the film was shifted to August 2012 since Aamir Khan Wished to release his next film, Talaash directed by Reema Kagti, on 1st June.[2]

Cast

Production

This will be Salman Khan's first venture with Yashraj Films, whereas his father, Salim Khan, has written Trishul (1978), Kaala Patthar (1979) earlier for the banner. Also, director Kabir Khan teams up with Katrina Kaif and Aseem Mishra again after the successful New York. Initially, Pritam was signed as the composer of the film. However, later he opted out of the film, citing date problems with both Yash Raj projects Ek Tha Tiger and Dhoom 3. Thus, Aditya Chopra being impressed by composer Sohail Sen's work in their recent venture Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, roped him to compose for the film.[4] The fee of Salman for 'Ek Tha Tiger' was reportedly 60Crore plus % of profit.[5]

Filming

Filming began on August 10, 2011[6][7] and the film is set to release next year (Eid 2012). It is being filmed in five different countries,[8] including Ireland,[2] Turkey,[9] where the shoot happened to encounter an intense earthquake and Iraq.[10]

Soundtrack

The film's original score and soundtrack will be composed by Sohail Sen. The lyrics will be penned by Neelesh Misra.[11] A song titled Jaaniyan which had vocals by Bilawal Baloch, a Pakistani artist was reported to have been leaked from the film's soundtrack. However, YRF officials denied the news, saying that the album was not in any danger of being leaked.[12]
