Comin' Home Baby! is a jazz song first recorded by Donald Bailey Quartet in 1961 on Two Feet in the Gutter (Epic BA 17021). It was composed by Donald Bailey's pianist, Ben Tucker. The song was subsequently recorded six weeks later by Herbie Mann live at the Village Gate. Bob Dorough of School House Rock Fame added lyrics to the song and the vocal version became a Top 40 hit for American jazz singer Mel Tormé. The song has been covered numerous times including a version by Michael Buble, Quincy Jones, Hank Jones and Sergio Mendes, [1] [2]
