Madeon (born Hugo Leclercq on May 30, 1994) is an electropop producer from Nantes, France.

Biography

Madeon started composing music very young (at the age of 11), previously working in the hands-up genre under the pseudonym DJ Deamon, before adopting a nu-disco style under the name Madeon in 2010. In the fall of that year, he gained popularity for his award-winning remix of The Island by Pendulum[2][3].

In 2011, he created a remix for Yelle's "Que veux-tu"[4], and then went on to remix deadmau5's Raise Your Weapon. In the summer of 2011, a YouTube video of his live mashup "Pop Culture" went viral, which combines 36 pop hits into one song. As of January of 2012, it has 7,843,435 hits.[5].

His debut EP is scheduled to be released in 2012[6].
