Dilip Rogger
Dilip Rogger India’s top most international super bike racer and Chennai lad Dilip Rogger[[1]]. The first Asian & Indian to compete in Boerdesprint 2009 which happens to be the German National Racing Championship. The fastest Indian on two-wheels will be riding a KTM RC 8 R 1190 cc version of the LC8. Rogger’s passion for bike racing started at the age of 13, when he rode a Yamaha RX 135, at the Sriperumbudur, Chennai, racing track. When he was 16 years old, Rogger got an opportunity to go to London to hone his bike-racing skills at the Silverstone Circuit and Daytona Park, U.K, where he cleared the qualifying test. Rogger’s big break [[2]] came at the age of 18, when he participated and won in the Malaysian Super Series Championship 2004 (Grand Prix) in the Novice Superbike category. The championship consisted of 7 rounds and 14 races. He made it to the podium for all the races and finished 1st in 5 races, in 2nd in 8 races and finished 3rd in 1 race. Riding a Honda CBR600 F4i, Dilip Rogger became the First Indian to participate and win the Championship in his first attempt in the Pirelli Supersports Novice Category of the Malaysian Super Series 2004. He won the Championship Title with a total tally of 97 points, followed by Ahmad Ikhwan of Malaysia with 95 points and Chia Khoo Keat of China with 63 points. Dilip Rogger rode a race-spec Yamaha R6 (2005) in the Malaysian Super Series Championship (Open Class) Superbike Category in 2005, and placed 2nd twice, 3rd twice,5th twice and 7th once. He also participated in the FIM Asian Road Racing Championship (Round One) in China at the Zuhai Circuit and placed 6th. Dilip Rogger was the only private rider to be placed in the entire championship.
Rogger came back in 2009 astride a race-spec Yamaha R6 2005 in the Malaysian Super Series Championship (Open Class) Supersports Category and won 5th place twice and 6th place twice competing with five Asian FIM GP riders from PETRONAS Racing, Malaysia and the Yamaha Hong Leong Malaysia (Factory teams) as a privateer.
Having experienced the Malaysian Super Series, which is run by the Petronas Yamaha team, Dilip, on raceday, was several notches higher than his rivals in the 600cc Super Bikes category run as part of the J K Tyre National Racing Championship 2008 at the MMS Track in Irrungattukottai, near Sriperumbudur. In the Open Class 2005 Malaysian Super Series Championship, stood in the third position. Born on 26th October 1984, Rogger is also a hardware, software and multimedia professional. He pursuade his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science at Binary College (affiliated to Sunderland University) in Malaysia.
