Walter Augustus Abercrombie (born September 26, 1959 in Waco, Texas) is a former professional American football running back and kick returner in the National Football League. He was selected in first round (12th overall) of the 1982 NFL draft by the Steelers.

Before entering the NFL draft in 1982, Abercrombie played college football for Baylor.
Professional
Abercrombie played for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1982 to 1987 and then for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1988.
