Jake Hecht (born (1984-02-09)February 9, 1984) is an American mixed martial artist who competes in the welterweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A professional MMA competitor since 2006, Hecht fought mostly in regional promotions across the midwestern and southeastern United States before signing with the UFC in 2011.

Career

Background

After finishing at the University of Missouri in 2006, Hecht began his mixed martial arts career in regional promotions, before going on the international scene in 2010. Competing at middleweight and welterweight, Hecht had a notable victory over The Ultimate Fighter veteran Charlie Rader and had also lost a unanimous decision to fellow UFC fighter Che Mills.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Hecht made his promotional debut against Rich Attonito on December 10, 2011 at UFC 140.[1] Hecht won the fight in the second round by way of TKO due to elbows and strikes from top position.

Hecht is expected to face TJ Waldburger on March 3, 2012 at UFC on FX 2.[2]
