Jake Holmes (born December 18, 1939 in San Francisco, California) is an American folk-rock singer/songwriter of the late 60's. He is the original author of the song "Dazed and Confused" which was later made famous by Led Zeppelin. The song appeared on Holmes' debut, The Above Ground Sound of Jake Holmes.

It is still not widely recognized that Holmes was the author of the classic song, which was first performed by The Yardbirds in concert, and later made into the famous Led Zeppelin classic. For reasons that are not entirely clear, Holmes was not credited as songwriter on Led Zepplin's recording, with sole songwriting credits going to Jimmy Page.
