Josh Drummond (born 19 April 1983) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League. He is a rebounding defender with a raking and pin-point left shoe. He is also capable of playing on a wing.
He was recruited through the 2003 Rookie Draft from the Northern Eagles after 2 dominent seasons at centre half back. He won the Eagles Best & Fairest in 2003. He was elevated to the Brisbane Lions senior list in Round 8, 2005 when he made his debut against Adelaide. After missing the early part of 2007 through injury, he became one of the Lions' most important players in 2007, with an impressive ability to hit targets from the kick out. He also had 14 rebound 50's against the Western Bulldogs, in Round 12, 2008.
Josh Drummond's left foot is among the most penetrating and damaging in the AFL, which has added a new dimension to Brisbane's attack. Repeated soft tissue injuries, however, have hampered Drummond's career to date. His quads are a problem, former coach Leigh Matthews describing them as "Queer Quads". Drummo has an all round average rig. Multiple injuries and no guns have held him back from being one of the best players in the AFL. He was leading the Brisbane Lions B&F vote count in 2010 up until round 7 when he tore his ACL.
If Josh can get his body right in 2012 and play to his full potential the Lions will be a much better side.
