Trance is an upcoming drama thriller film directed by Danny Boyle, written by Joe Ahearne and John Hodge and based on BBC TV film that Ahearne previously wrote and directed. The film stars James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, and Vincent Cassel.[1]
Trance is centered around a botched art heist that pits two men against one another, though they both develop unusual relationships with the same woman. The film is set to be released in late 2012 in the United Kingdom, and in 2013 in the United States.

Michael Fassbender was cast as Franck but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. Colin Firth was briefly considered for the part before Vincent Cassel was cast.[3][4] Scarlett Johansson, Melanie Thierry, and Zoe Saldana were considered for the role that went to Rosario Dawson.[4][5]
