Eric Stiller is the co-founder of a Manhattan Kayak Company in 1995 and author of Keep Australia on Your Left (ISBN 0312874596), the story an attempt by Tony Brown and him to kayak all of the way around Australia. The trip ended in failure roughly a third of the way through, with both men giving up after months of hardship.
