In the first Roadblock of the race, the teammate who did not choose to perform the Roadblock would go up in a plane to skydive, while the racer who did pick the Roadblock would have to drive to a designated location and then look for their teammate's landing site. Once the team was reunited, the jump master would give them their next clue.
- Additional tasks
- At the starting line, teams had to search through 100 balloons for one of eleven total clues to their next destination. Once they got a clue, they would be able to to take one of the provided Ford Tauruses to Los Angeles International Airport where they would go to the American Airlines counter to get tickets to Buenos Aires' Ministro Pistarini International Airport. The first six teams would be given tickets to an earlier connecting flight to Salta's Martín Miguel de Güemes International Airport, after which they would have to drive to Santa Bárbara.
- Upon arriving at the Patios de Cafayate Winery, teams would have to make 120 empanadas, 60 filled with meat and 60 filled with cheese, but the two types have different ways of being closed. Once teams had made the empanadas, the empanada champion would judge the teams and then direct them to head to the Pit Stop if the empanadas were made correctly.
