List of Aquarion Evol characters

This is a list of characters from the manga and anime series Aquarion Evol.

Elements

Just like in the original series, the Element users are youngsters with special powers trained to pilot the vectors against enemy invaders. While forming Aquarion, the Elements' powers are amplified allowing Aquarion to perform special attacks depending of its current pilots. To increase Aquarion's flexibility in combat, a special teleport system labeled "Element Change" allows pilots to be called back and forth between the vectors's cockpits and their posts at Neo-DEAVA's command center instantly.

Amata Sora (アマタ・ソラ): Voiced by: Yūki Kaji; The male protagonist whose Element power is levitation. It can be channeled within the Aquarion allowing it to have flight capabilities. Unable to control his powers as it activates every time he is scared or excited, he wears special boots with weights so as to prevent his Element power in case it accidentally activates. As a child, people thought of him as a freak thus shunned his ability until he used it to protect Mikono from an attack of the Abductors and took control of a vector, broke the seal Aquaria has in place to prevent Union between male and female and call upon the true name to invoke Aquarion Evol. It is shown that he has "Wings" on his feet, which imply that he is a bearer of the "Solar Wings" just like Apollonius and Apollo proven when it manifested on him on episode 1. He is somehow hated by Cayenne Suzushiro since he is the reason why Mikono Suzushiro gets close to the Aquarion. Kagura stated that he has no smell. He is almost mistaken as a gay when he bought a picture of Andy, though the real reason is that it has a stolen pic of Kagura. He is also called a stud by Malloy since he was surrounded by three girls.

Mikono Suzushiro (ミコノ・スズシロ): Voiced by: Ai Kayano; The female protagonist who comes from a famous and long lineage of Element users, but is believed to not have any Element power unlike her elder brother. Although, others believe that she has the ability to magnify the Element power of Elements piloting Aquarion. She became shy towards other people due to the fact that she is the only one in her family without an Element Power. In episode 9 it is stated by Zen that her Element power is the power to connect. She also has a pet rabbit as stated by her and could hide in her hair looking like a hair accessory. In one episode where they are grouped into three people attached with a band with a ring that measure emotion, she is shown to be jealous when Zessica Wong gets too close Amata Sora, jealously stating that he could fly with anyone besides her. There is also a time where she thought of wearing something revealing but not as much as Zessica because of Amata's flying everytime she sees Zessica in a perverted way. Despite gradually falling in love with Amata, she somehow feels herself attracted to Kagura, a union deemed forbidden by Zen Fudo and disastrous by her brother Cayenne who had an ominous and enigmatic vision of her wedding him dressed in mourning clothes. She has a shapeshifting pet cat named Shushu, who is usually hidden into her hair dubbing as a hairpin that has the habit of attacking Amata when he gets too close to her.

Zessica Wong (ゼシカ・ウォン, Zeshika Won): Voiced by: Kana Hanazawa; A female student who took an interest on Amata and likes to tease him, much to Mikono's displeasure. In the first episode, she state that the unification with just girls are boring and wants to try doing it with boys, resulting with MIX and Suomi scolding and lecturing her on how it is impure. Her power is the ability to shoot an Energy Blast shaped like a hand, shown when teaching Amata Sora the basics of piloting Aquarion Evol on its debut. She has a fear of supernatural things, like ghosts, and tries to hide it behind a scowl, leading her to grab Amata and shouting "Don't leave me" which caused misunderstanding, she also seems to have developed feelings for him proven when she bought a picture of Amata.

Cayenne Suzushiro (カイエン・スズシロ, Kaien Suzushiro): Voiced by: Kenichi Suzumura; Elder brother of Mikono. He is popular and known among the girls of the academy. His Element power is called Prophecy of Despair which allows him to foretell when disaster is about to befall those near him, and makes use of it to perfect his sniping skills. Tried his best to protect his little sister as he had vision of her dying and her death has connection with Aquarion. He is a bit annoyed and pissed with Amata Sora since Amata is the one that brings Mikono Suzushiro closer to the Aquarion.

Andy W. Hole (アンディ・W・ホール, Andi Daburu Hōru): Voiced by: Kousuke Toriumi; Wielding the Element power of earth, Andy can find a weak point on any structure in order to collapse it. From all the boys at Neo-DEAVA, he is the most eager to make contact with the girls, resulting in him digging an underground passage to pass under the wall that separates the Girls and Boys section of the school. He is responsible for the new seat arrangement for their class. Though eager to make union with girls he hates the idea of union with MIX due to her bad treatment of him, although the feels himself attracted to her. After hearing MIX's family background he stated to MIX that he wants to be the one to fill the hole in MIX's heart. He calls MIX's large breasts as cannons or big bangs, he also seems to consider Amata a brother of sorts, which he calls as digging bro. After the combination of the boys and school section he still digs, only this time to enter the girls changing room.

Shrade Elan (シュレード・エラン, Shurēdo Eran): Voiced by: Daisuke Namikawa; The most popular and the top student of the academy, who is never sent out in Aquaria due to effect on his body. His Element power uses the medium of sound to control the emotions of others. Has a calm yet mildly sadistic personality. It is stated by Donar Dantes that among the students that he possesses the strongest Elemental Power, however this offset by the fact that piloting the Aquarion would consume his life force, a fact proven when he lost consciousness and becomes pale after the battle with Kagura Demuri at Neo-Kowloon. He is the first person to use Vector Y as the head resulting into Aquarion Spada.

Malloy Direzza (モロイ・ドレッツァ, Moroi Dorettsa): Voiced by: Kensuke Sato; A dark-skinned male whose powers are still unknown. He is one of the students together with Amata and Cayenne who participated in the Mock Exam.

MIX (Mikkusu): Voiced by: Ayumi Fujimura; A strict and serious student that shows disgust towards the opposite sex, she claims that men are unneeded to battle the Abductors. Although Andy W. Hole is usually the most annoyed by her misandry, he still finds her very attractive. Her Element power Spacial Augmentation is the opposite of Andy's Element power, the ability to close any type of holes. She is the one responsible for filling up and closing the holes dug by Andy. She follows the school regulations and admires the old school regulations written in an old student handbook, similar to a conservative Japanese school, found by Andy. Her father was a writer for a magazine, writing reviews and guides for sightseeing attractions. Her father fell in love with a woman he met a the little hole-in-a-wall bathhouse hinting that her father left her for another woman. Due to the tragedy involving her father, she became disgusted with men and doesn't want to talk about her father, she also hates holes because of it. After her first union with a guy she starts to treat Andy better but still gets into some petty arguments with him. She has a habit of filling holes.

Sazanka Bianca (サザンカ・ビアンカ, Sazanka Bianka): Voiced by: Megumi Nakajima; A girl that appears to be Indian. She is partnered with Cayenne Suzushiro and Shrade Elan in the Emotion Test conducted by Neo-DEAVA on Neo-Kowloon. Like her fellow girl students she admires both Cayenne and Shrade, resulting in her being electrocuted by the device used in the Test. This implies that her attraction may be a desire towards seeing them attracted to one another. In one episode she becomes so excited that Shrade and Cayenne are going to sit together possibly hinting that she's a Fujoshi and is into BL or Boys Love, she also takes pictures of her teammates in her spare time. She has a business of selling pictures of her classmates to each other, strangely being noted as impossible to have taken shots of, due to being in another location when it happened.

Yunoha Suroor (ユノハ・スルール, Yunoha Surūru): Voiced by: Yui Ogura; A very young but very shy female Element user. Her Element ability Optical Fluoroscopy turns her invisible which make her transparent to light, which can extend to Aquarion itself for brief moments at a time, but typically involves her turning herself invisible, while her toy frog-like cat doll remains visible. As a result, when she moves, it tends to seem as the doll is being levitated, confusing some people in the early episodes who do not see it move as to why a doll is being counted as an Element, and becoming the ghost in an urban legend that Andy made up. Her ability becomes the key in defeating Jin and his Radius Gnis, rendering his laser gun phasing through Aquarion. Because of her shyness and invisibility, no one, boy or girl, in her class knew who she was, or that she was even human, before she piloted a Vector to form Aquarion. After the battle with Jin, she starts to show herself but still turns invisible when shy, and she also starts hanging out with Amata and the others. She likes Amata, shown when she bought a picture of Amata that was almost naked while in the vector, but after Jin transfers into Neo-DEAVA, she ends up getting close to him.

Jin Muso (ジン・ムソウ, Jin Musō): Voiced by: Jun Fukushima; The only Element originally from Altair. His Element power that allows him to create energy barriers. He is Izumo's second in command, who prefers to employ furtive tactics against his opponents. He manages to infiltrate the Neo-DEAVA academy as a transfer student under the name Akbarjin Batbayar, looking to prove his theory that the female the Alteans are looking for is among the elements piloting Aquarion. There he becomes attached to Yunoha and obtains his element power while trying to protect her from an energy blast. He is calm and a good analyst,his quick thinking allows him to execute his attacks and strategies perfectly. He is also a sharpshooter. He is also the last Altean born before the death of all women in the planet, he is usually called as the last son of Altair by Izumi.

Neo-DEAVA

Neo-DEAVA is the organization responsible for Aquarion and the elements that pilot it, in a position similar to its ancestor DEAVA 12,000 years before. Its headquarters is situated near Neo-Kowloon, a huge metropolis inspired in Hong Kong.

Donar Dantes (ドナール・ダンテス, Donāru Dantesu): Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe; A veteran soldier and chief of Neo-DEAVA's male academy. He uses a pair of prosthetic arms to replace those he lost on a disastrous incident when he piloted Aquarion on its first sortie against the Abductors 8 years before. This also resulted in the disappearance of the other two pilots (including his girlfriend). He is a sharpshooter and is capable of using a small blowgun at a distance with ease and precision as shown when he is watching over Amata from afar during the test at Neo-Kowloon. He and Suomi feels like their is something important that would happen since Crea and Zen suddenly Returned to the Academy.

Suomi Konepi (スオミ・コネピ, Suomi Konepi): Voiced by: Sanae Kobayashi; Dressed as a nun, she runs Neo-DEAVA's female academy. In episode 8 where the key for Zessica, Amata and Mikono where the key is for them to bare more skin to increase their senses, she states that she knew the feeling of embarrassment from being seen naked possibly hinting why she wears a nun's dress. Like MIX she is completely against the unification of both girls and boys. She and Donar feels like something important would happen since Crea and Zen's sudden return to the Academy.

Zen Fudo (不動・ZEN, Fudō Zen): Voiced by: Keiji Fujiwara; An enigmatic character who is the supreme commander of Neo-DEAVA and offers guidance to the elements to help them attain their full potential, in a fashion similar to Fudo Gen in the original Aquarion series. He is also the one who chooses the Head and the pilots of the Vectors. According to him, the incident involving Donar was caused by having two Elements in love piloting Aquarion together as a consequence of Apollo and Silvia's separation 12,000 years before, but to bring forth the true power of Aquarion, the Elements must have strong feelings for each other that must never develop into love. Prior to the beginning of the story he left his position as Supreme Commander and secretly starts working as the Academy's janitor, returning to position after the seal is broken and the wall separating the girls and boys section is destroyed.

Crea Dolosera (クレア・ドロセラ, Kurea Dorosera): Voiced by: Sakura Tange; Despite being still a child, she is a genius with an IQ beyond 300 and and chairwoman of Neo-DEAVA academy, usually displaying a mature attitude despite her uncommon craving for donuts. She is the one responsible for recruiting Shrade Elan. She is responsible for giving the signal of approvement for the unification of the Vectors. Prior to the beginning of the story and after the prohibition of using Aquarion she is said to be in a trip, returning after the Aquarion's debut once the seal is broken and the wall separating the girls and boys section is destroyed.

Altair

An organization that captures or abducts people in Vega. Years ago prior to the story, the women of Altair suddenly stopped giving birth to girls, and those who were alive started dying one by one until only the men were left. After the incident, they started abducting women living in Vega dubbed as "rare igura", not for the purpose of invading but to save their kind.

Izumo Kamurogi (イズモ・カムロギ): Voiced by: Hiroki Yasumoto; The elusive and mysterious commander of the Altair forces.

Kagura Demuri (カグラ・デムリ): Voiced by: Kōki Uchiyama; One of Izumo's two subordinates, and the man whom Cayene saw beside Mikono in his "wedding in mourning clothes" vision. Upon feeling Mikono's scent, he claims "he found his wench" and thus is determined to claim her at all costs, going as far as searching for her on board his Misla Genis. His sense of smell is so strong that he could track someone similar to that of canines. When on board his Misla Gnis his sense of smell is so strong that he could even smell the pilot of the Vectors. For some reason, his appearance, attitude and behavior resemble those of Apollo, the protagonist of the original Aquarion series.

Mykage Towano (ミカゲ・トワノ, Mikage Towano): Voiced by: Yuichi Nakamura; A mysterious entity who was sleeping in a glass-like coffin and has a striking resemblance to Touma, the antagonist of the original Aquarion series. He seems to have some connection to the incident involving Aquarion 9 years ago. He is manipulative and is able to corrupt the minds of people, shown when he manipulated the minds of some of Jin's soldiers. His motives are a mystery, and his methods are usually reproved by Izumo.
