This Is My Time is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Raven-Symoné, released in the United States on September 21, 2004 by Hollywood Records. The album debuted at number fifty-one on the U.S. Billboard 200,[1] with 19,000 copies sold in its first week. It nevertheless became Raven-Symoné's best-selling solo album, selling 235,000 copies up to February 2, 2007 in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.[2]
Release and promotion
Symoné released a five-track EP with Hollywood Records on January 1, 2004[3][4] prior to the release of This Is My Time, containing "Backflip", "Bump", "Overloved", "What Is Love?", and "Mystify".[5] Released to promote the full-length album, the EP was only available in select stores and is now very rare.
Recorded late into the production of the album, "Backflip" was the lead single official from This Is My Time.
Four songs from the album were incorporated into soundtracks from Disney films: The Lion King 1½ with "Grazing in the Grass"; The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement with "This Is My Time"; Ice Princess with "Bump"; and Go Figure with "Life Is Beautiful".

"Backflip"
"Backflip" is the second single from the album, and debuted on Radio Disney on July 28, 2004.
- Music video
The music video was filmed in Los Angeles[35] and directed by Sanaa Hamri,[35] premiered on BET's Access Granted on August 25, 2004.[36] The video received heavy rotation on and Disney Channel, BET and MTV.[37][38] Michael Copon plays in the video as Raven's love interest.[39]
"I'm with this guy and he's just being disrespectful to me. I'm coming in the house trying to offer him popcorn and he's throwing it all over me, talking on the phone [when] we're supposed to be having some quality time together. So through all of this I'm just typing on my Blackberry and writing something down mischievously and we don't know what's going on... Anyway, we find out that I'm reprogramming him, kinda like 'Stepford Husbands,' making him a little more respectful, loving and [willing to] listen some more, not necessarily catering just to me, but come on now, let's be serious."
