Theo Dahl is the child of Roald Dahl and Patricia Neal, born July 30 1960. At the age of four months, while riding in his pram (a type of baby carriage), he was struck by a taxi and his skull shattered.

Many complications followed this accident. In nine months, he visited the hospital six times because of fluid in his brain that impaired his vision. His father, Roald Dahl, then created the Wade-Dahl-Till valve with a pair of friends - a neurosurgeon and an engineer - to alleviate cranial pressure. The Wade-Dahl-Till valve allowed Theo and others suffering from Hydrocephalus (water in the brain) to recover.

He is the brother of Tessa Dahl, Ophelia Dahl, Lucy Dahl, and Olivia Dahl. Olivia died of measles at the age of seven. He is the uncle of former model Sophie Dahl, who is the daughter of Tessa Dahl.

His spouse is Madeleine Riley (since 1996) and they have one child, a daughter named Alexa Isabella, who was born on June 26 2005.
