The 162nd Infantry Brigade is an Infantry training brigade of the United States Army. The brigade is responsible for training transition teams to deploying to Operations Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. U.S. forces are trained to prepare foreign civilian and military security forces within Afghanistan and Iraq for the transfer of security responsibilities back to the host nations. The Foreign Security Force Transition Team Training Brigade provides rotational units with the capability to provide training, coaching, and mentoring to the Afghanistan National Army and other Afghan Security forces in Afghanistan, and the Multinational Security Transition Command-Iraq.
