The Samurai Power Rangers, are the eponymous protagonists of the 2011 Power Rangers television series Power Rangers Samurai. They fight against the evil Master Xandred and his army of Nighloks, who want to flood the planet with the water from the Sanzu River. The team's motto is "Rangers Together, Samurai Forever!"

Jayden Shiba

Jayden Shiba is the Red Samurai Ranger, also known as the Samurai of Fire. He is the leader of the group. He also has a secret that he keeps from his fellow Rangers.[1] His father was also a descendant of the Shiba Clan and gave Jayden the Lion Foldingzord. Jayden is generally calm and serious, though he considers others' feelings and is willing to do anything to help his friends. He is also being targeted by a mysterious half-Nighlok, half-human warrior named Deker, who wants to find a formidable opponent for his katana Uramasa. Jayden is also a strong leader, overcoming the Beetle Disk's powers when the other Rangers needed help with another one of Xandred's Nighloks. Jayden wields the Fire Smasher and pilots the Lion Foldingzord along with the Tiger Zord. He formerly piloted the Beetle Zord, which is passed on to Mia, then Mike. Master Xandred soon learns that Jayden can write a special symbol or seal with his Samuraizer that can ultimately trap him forever, and for that reason he starts targeting Jayden. He also does know that the seal cannot be permanent if the user doesn't have enough symbol power. Jayden is always concerned for the other Rangers, even once attempted to leave and fight alone to put them out of risk and initially refused to allow Antonio to join them for the same reason.

He is portrayed by Alex Heartman. As a child, Jayden is portrayed by George Beca.

Kevin

Kevin is the Blue Samurai Ranger, also known as the Samurai of Water. He is an honest, devoted swordsman who dreamt of becoming an Olympics swimmer before being summoned to fight against the Nighloks. Kevin is second-in-command and whenever Jayden is not around, he will usually be the voice of reasoning that everyone listens to.[2] Kevin is extremely loyal to his friends and is very serious about it, even considering quitting the Rangers after he raised his sword against Jayden (though it is under one of the Nighloks' influence). Kevin wields the Hydro Bow and pilots the Dragon Foldingzord along with the Swordfish Zord, which he caught with the help of a mysterious fisherman. It was Kevin who came up with the idea of the Battlewing Megazord.

He is portrayed by Najee De-Tiege.

Mia

Mia is the Pink Samurai Ranger, also known as the Samurai of Sky. She acts as the big sister to the team. She believes that she is a great cook, though the others would disagree.[3] Mia's maturity and optimism brings the team together and comforts any one of them that's feeling down. She also acts as an idol to Emily, who wants to be more like her. Mia wields the Sky Fan and pilots the Turtle Foldingzord. She formerly piloted the Beetle Zord, which is passed on to Mike in the same episode. In The Ultimate Duel after feeling sorry for her hesitation to Emily after Dayu hurt her, Mia was the first one to agree about Jayden's choice to fight Deker stating that Deker wouldn't stop at nothing to fight Jayden coldly and said to Emily that she had to put down her emotions to fight thinking it was her fault Emily got hurt fighting Dayu.

She is portrayed by Erika Fong.

Mike

Mike is the Green Samurai Ranger, also known as the Samurai of Forest. He is an avid video gamer and the lazy rebel of the group.[4] He is very close friends to Kevin and Emily. Mike also wants to train harder in order to catch up to Jayden and Kevin's progress. Being the slacker of the group, he is very irresponsible, once using the Beetle Zord disk when Jii told him not to and skipping out on training when he felt that he wasn't doing well to hang out with his old friends. He can also be somewhat cocky and tends to joke around, but he is kind and usually means well. Mike wields the Forest Spear and pilots the Bear Foldingzord and the Beetle Zord, which originally belonged to Jayden, then Mia.

He is portrayed by Hector David, Jr.

Emily

Emily is the Yellow Samurai Ranger, also known as the Samurai of Earth. She is a country girl who becomes a Ranger by chance. She replaces her sick sister, Serena who was destined for the position.[5] Emily used an old saying "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" to help her get through her childhood, and also thinks she isn't fit to be a Ranger, saying she is a disaster. She idolizes Mia. Emily wields the Earth Slicer and pilots the Ape Foldingzord given to her by her sick sister Serena. She can also be seen playing a flute, due to her sister playing a flute to make her feel better every time someone picked on her.

She is portrayed by Brittany Anne Pirtle. As a child, she is portrayed by Lara Hodgson.

Antonio Garcia

Antonio Garcia is the Gold Samurai Ranger, also known as the Samurai of Light. Though a fish seller, he is the tech wizard of the group. He also happens to be a childhood friend of Jayden, training alongside him and receiving the Octozord from him and making a promise to aid him as a samurai. He is considered to be Jayden's opposite, being hyperactive and expressive as Jayden is reserved and stoic. Antonio can also speak Spanish.

Antonio first appears in "Unexpected Arrival," when he saves the other Rangers from the Nighlok Vulpes. The subsequent episode, "Room for One More," explains his past and his intent to join the team. However, Ji initially refuses to let Antonio join on the grounds that he lacks the proper training and discipline, and Jayden sides with this decision out of concern for Antonio's safety. However, when the Rangers are completely overpowered by the Nighlok Steeleto, they reconsider and allow Antonio to join. With his technological skills he developed a way to channel symbol power through texting on his Morpher to help him communicate with the Octozord and was able to repair the Claw Zord. Antonio's weapon is the Barracuda Blade, a tantō that he uses in his high speed slash attacks. The Barracuda Blade's special attack is the Barracuda Bite, which slashes an enemy multiple times with energy strikes at incredible speeds. In the episode "Super Samurai", Antonio was able to program and charge the Black Box, which gives the Rangers the ability to morph into Super Samurai Mode.

He is portrayed by Steven Skyler. As a child, Antonio is portrayed by Connor Kerrigan.
