Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors
The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their November 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy edit backlog. The drive begins on November 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and ends on November 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles (and specifically will be targeting the oldest three months), as we want to copy edit as many of these as possible. Barnstars will be awarded to anyone who copy edits more than 4,000 words, and special awards will be given to the top 5 in the following categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". We hope to see you there! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters. |

Regarding the Black mamba article
I had requested a move to its scientific name Dendroaspis polylepis, you had replied in the discussion but didn't say whether you supported the move or not. I'd really appreciate it if you'd just tell us if you are in support of the move or not. I'd really appreciate it if you supported the move, I mean countless other snake articles use the same title format I am trying to use for the black mamba. I don't see why the black mamba should be different from most of the other snake articles. But either way, I'd respect your decision. Thanks. Bastian (talk) 22:42, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

If you have a spare moment, please join and wikify an article or tell your friends. Thanks! Note: The drive starts December 1, and you can sign up today! |

Disambiguation link notification
Hi. In Maurice Ptito, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Plasticity (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Your notability tags
When you mass tag biographies using twinkle, consider using the dropdown menu to select biographies. Of course before doing this, you should determine if the article does already meet WP:BIO. Morbidthoughts (talk) 23:48, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
- Well I know that there are lots of links for them online, but since most of them are for porn videos rather than news I thought they might not pass WP:GNG. Also, they only had a few nominations (which it seems like every porn actress has some kind of) and did not win any awards. But I looked at the biography section of the notability guideline for people and I can see where they could pass on those 2 points. I have no problem with it being reverted; I won't tag those types of articles anymore since I don't seem to know enough about them. Thanks for the tip on the dropdown menu, didn't notice that before. Speedy denied
I denied the speedy tag on Khalifa Al Dhahrani. If you had looked through the history you'd have found a pre-spam version. Thank you, Drmies (talk) 03:27, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

GOCE March drive newsletter
Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 backlog elimination drive update
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors March 2012 Backlog elimination drive! Here's the mid-drive newsletter. Participation: We have had 58 people sign up for this drive so far, which compares favorably with our last drive, and 27 have copy-edited at least one article. If you have signed up but have not yet copy-edited any articles, please consider doing so. Every bit helps! If you haven't signed up yet, it's not too late. Join us! Progress report: Our target of completing the 2010 articles has almost been reached, with only 56 remaining of the 194 we had at the start of the drive. The last ones are always the most difficult, so thank you if you are able to help copy-edit any of the remaining articles. We have reduced the total backlog by 163 articles so far. Special thanks: Special thanks to Stfg, who has been going through the backlog and doing some preliminary vetting of the articles—removing copyright violations, doing initial clean-up, and nominating some for deletion. This work has helped make the drive a more pleasant experience for all our volunteers. Your drive coordinators – Dianna (talk), Stfg (talk), and Dank (talk)To discontinue receiving GOCE newsletters, please remove your name from our mailing list. |
