Cartoon Network is an upcoming Canadian English language Category B specialty channel that is expected to launch in summer 2012.[2]

The channel will be based on the U.S. Cartoon Network, which broadcasts animated programming aimed at children daily from 6:00am to 9:00pm EST, while adult-oriented animation and non-animation programming will air daily during the Adult Swim programming block from 9:00pm to 6:00am EST.[2]

The channel is expected to be wholly owned by Teletoon Canada Inc, a 50/50 partnership between Astral Media and Corus Entertainment, with the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim branding in use through a licensing agreement with Time Warner, the owners of the U.S.-based Cartoon Network. The channel is expected to be available in both standard definition and high definition from launch.[2]

With the takeover by bid of Astral pending by Bell Canada Enterprises Inc. on March 16, 2012, it's expected Corus Entertainment and Bell Media will own the newly launched network once the transaction of Astral closes (subject to CRTC approval).[3][4]

Programming

Although Teletoon broadcasts some of Cartoon Network's original shows, the channel will include most of its programming from the U.S. Cartoon Network. The following is a list of shows that has been announced to broadcast on it:
