Richard W. Lariviere (born January 27, 1950) was President of the University of Oregon from 2009 to 2011. He is a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He became president of the University of Oregon in 2009. In November 2011 he was informed by the state Board of Higher Education that his contract would not be renewed when it expires in 2012. [1]

Lariviere has stated that he will remain at the institution as a tenured faculty member.
