I think the film should be referred to as 'Red Nightmare', or it's original title 'Freedom and You'. 'Commies' is a parody title given by a company in the '80's for its video release, and was never an approved title.

Done. Almost everyone knows this film by the name Red Nightmare, so that's where I put it. Commies ... redirects to it. Agateller (talk)

Twilight Zone did precede Red Nightmare

"The production of the film is quite similar to episodes of The Twilight Zone though it predated that popular television series." Red Nightmare was released in 1962.
