This text was formerly in the article: It is one of the three bridges linking Washington DC to Virginia. The others are the Key Bridge, which leads to Rosslyn, Virginia and the Arlington Memorial Bridge, which brings one to Arlington National Cemetery.

This is not true. From what I know of, the following bridges complexes connect Virginia and DC:

  • Chain Bridge
  • (Francis Scott) Key Bridge
  • (Theodore) Roosevelt Bridge
  • (Arlington) Memorial Bridge
  • 14th Street Bridge
  • Woodrow Wilson Bridge (the bridge is DC jurisdiction)

I think we can leave this info out of this article.. I don't see how it is all that relevant.

I agree. Thanks. Vaoverland

Technically the Arlington Memorial Bridge does not enter Virginia, because the Boundary Channel is the line; there are five separate road bridges across the channel. --SPUI (talk) 18:53, 21 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I am comfortable with your expertise in such matters. As you probably know, the Virginia DC line follows the old Maryland-Virginia wording along the Potomac River between the two, which basically puts the line on the Virginia side of the river. Of course, over a few hundred years, the channel of a river may change somewhat, and I guess even the shores. I do know that in the years before deregulation (federal in 1982, Virginia in 1996), some Virginia-based passenger motor carriers who could not get intrastate authority initially between National and Dulles Airports were able to use interstate (ICC) authority via the GW Parkway because they left Virginia en route, albeit briefly, without crossing the Potomac. I have other good boundary stories should you become sufficiently bored. <gr>. Mark in Richmond. Vaoverland 19:48, Feb 21, 2005 (UTC)

Any idea who owns the bridge? --SPUI (talk - don't use sorted stub templates!) 07:29, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

From WP:RM

I will make the move. As this WP:RM proposal was not formatted properly if anyone objects then move it back and AjaxSmack you will have to ask for the move again via WP:RM and follow all the steps for a requested move. --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 10:00, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There were 15 redirects that had to be altered with this name change please make sure that if it is moved back all the redirects are also adjusted --Philip Baird Shearer (talk) 10:23, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
