Religion Roma people in Greece are not assimilated to the population. They are Greek subjects and they are conscripted in the army, but this does not make them acquire a greek ethnic identity. The same is true for the muslim Roma in Western Thrace. They are to be classified as a different ethnic group and of course not as Turks. In reality, they were considered outcasts in the Ottoman times, though they were muslims. The muslim population in Western Thrace should be divided in three subgroups, i.e. Turkish (c. 55%), Bulgarian/Pomaks (c. 35%) and Roma (c. 10%). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.75.10.86 (talk) 11:49, 1 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
