"Cold" is the first single released in May 2004 by the rock band Crossfade. It was the lead single released from their debut full-length self-titled album Crossfade in 2004. It fared exceptionally well on rock charts worldwide and is their biggest hit to date, reaching #81 on the U.S. Hot 100, #3 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Tracks, and #2 on the U.S. Modern Rock Tracks, as well as reaching #48 on the UK Singles Chart.
Music video
The video (directed by Martin Weisz) features the band playing in a dark room of a house. A woman (played by Beau Garrett) walks in. She stands and admires them playing for a while, then walks up to the lead singer, but he continues to play and ignores her. She then walks in to his room and falls on his bed and finds a guitar under his sheets, a possible reference that he placed music before the loved person in question. She proceeds to pack some things into a bag and walks back to where the band is playing, towards the lead singer. She stands there for a while, then she goes back into the bathroom, with the lead singer right behind her. She picks up a picture of her and the lead singer, and throws it into the toilet, symbolizing the end of the relationship. She takes a toothbrush and then walks through the lead singer, who becomes transparent, making a reference to how he was never really there for her. She goes out of the bathroom, to the door, and stops to look back at the band playing. The lead singer looks at her, then looks away. She leaves the house, presumably for good.
