A photochop is known as the act of modifying a digital image to resemble something completely different. This can include merging different images, so that they look like they are actually the same photograph. Both the act of creating a photochop, and the resulting image have been referred to as photochops, named after the graphics application, Adobe Photoshop, although using Photoshop to create these types of images is not mandatory. Another favoured image editor is the GIMP.

A Photoshop contest may also be known as a photochop.
