Asplenium resiliens

The blackstem spleenwort, Asplenium resiliens, is a species of fern native to the southeastern United States. It is usually associated with limestone, either growing on the rock or in soil above it. It remarkably resembles the ebony spleenwort, Asplenium platyneuron, although it lacks the frond dimorphism and rigidly upright fertile pinnae of that species. Genetic research has shown that the two species are not very closely related, although they are congeneric.
