The 2012–13 season will be Manchester United's 21st season in the Premier League, and their 38th consecutive season in the top-flight of English football.

United will begin the season by contesting the Premier League and will be aiming for an unprecedented 20th League title this season.

In Europe, United will be competing in the Champions League for a 17th successive season, and will be hoping for a fourth triumph, in what would be their fourth final in just six seasons.

As well as this, they will also compete in the two domestic cups, the FA Cup and the League Cup, receiving their customary bye to the Third Round of both tournaments.

Pre-season and friendlies

Manchester United will preced their 2012–13 campaign with a tour to Norway for the first time since 2002. They will play Vålerenga on 5 August 2012 in Oslo.[1]

Premier League

The fixtures for the 2012–13 season will be announced in June 2012, and will reveal where United will begin to win the title and where it will ends.

FA Cup

United will enter the FA Cup at the Third Round stage with the other Premier League clubs, as well as those from the Championship. The Third Round ties will be played on the weekend beginning 5 January 2013, with the draw being made in early December 2012.

League Cup

As one of eight English clubs who qualified for European competition in the 2011–12 season, United will receive a bye to the Third Round of the League Cup.

UEFA Champions League

United will begin their Champions League campaign at the Group Stage after finished second in the League the previous season. They will also be seeded 1st in the draw, which will take place on August 2012 in Monaco, courtesy of their coefficient.
