Edwardstone is a village and civil parish in Suffolk, England. The parish contains the hamlets of Mill Green, Priory Green, Round Maple and Sherbourne Street, and the Edwardstone Woods, a Site of Special Scientific Interest. The parish church, St Mary's, is a Grade 1 listed building.

History

Edwardstone was listed in the Domesday Book as Eduardestuna[1]

Edwardstone has a Cricket Team in Hunts County Division 2. The team plays its home games at Homefields Boxford.

Listed buildings

  • Priory Green contains four Grade 2 listed buildings, the Barn to the North of Lynn's Hall,[2], Lynn's Hall[3], Priory Cottage, [4] and Priory Green Cottage.[5].
  • Mill Green has three Grade II listed buildings, all timber-framed and plastered houses, Earls Cottages, Mill End Green and Moat Farm Cottage.[6][7][8]
  • There are four Grade II listed buildings in Round Maple, all timber-framed and plastered: Flushing Farm, an 18th or early 19th century building;[9] Little Thatch, a renovated 17th to 18th century single-storey building;[10] Quicks Farm, a house with a red brick front, gable ends;[11] and Seasons, a single storey thatched building with attics..[12]
