Cold Specks is the stage name of Al Spx, a Canadian singer-songwriter based in London.[1] She appeared on Series 39, Episode 7 of Later with Jools Holland.[2] Her debut single "Holland" was released on October 17, 2011,[3] and she worked on an album with producer Rob Ellis. Members of her band include Pete Roberts, Thomas Greene, Tom Havelock, Chris Cundy, Sarah Jones, Jim Anderson, Rob Ellis, Marley Ellis, Terry Edwards, and Ben Christophers. Her musical style has been described as doom soul and shows the influence of American deep south gospel with a strong goth streak.[4] In 2012, she signed with Mute Records and released her debut album, I Predict a Graceful Expulsion, on May 21, 2012.
