Siberia is the second studio album by Canadian musician Lights, released on October 4, 2011.[2] The album was preceded by the single "Toes".[3] Artists making guest appearances on the album include Holy Fuck and rapper Shad.[3] Lights indicates a dubstep influence on the album, stating "I don't think I've incorporated it totally, but there's a lot of dubstep in there." [3] Lights embarked on her Siberia tour on October 14, 2011, in support of the album.[4]
The album is described as being slightly grittier in a musical sense than The Listening while retaining the charm and innocence of the previous album and EP. Upon release, Siberia garnered favorable reviews from critics, who praised the smoother, more refined sound over her first album. [5][6]
The album debuted at #3 on the Canadian Albums Chart with 10,000 copies sold in its first week.[7] Siberia also made its debut on the Billboard 200 at #47, selling over 8,700 copies.[8][9][10] It received a Juno Award nomination for Pop Album of the Year on February 7, 2012. It was certified gold on April 27, 2012 in Canada, denoting sales in excess of 40,000.[11][12]

Reception
Siberia received generally favorable reviews from critics, indicated by a score of 72 from Metacritic.[19] Matt Collar of Allmusic described the album as a "blissful, laser-toned experience where Poxleitner's sweet voice is expertly wrapped in stylish, multicolored hues of fluorescent keyboard squelch and bass guitar shimmer."
