Scott Moninger is an accomplished American professional road racing cyclist. He was (born October 20, 1966 in Atlanta, Georgia), grew up in Wichita, Kansas, and moved to Boulder, Colorado, in the mid 80's to further his career in cycling. Scott turned professional in 1991 with the Coors Light Team directed by Len Pettyjohn. Since then, Scott has won nearly every road race in North America with 275 career victories, the most by any American rider. He has represented the United States at the World Road Championship as an amateur in 1990, and as a professional in 1999. Scott Moninger has been nicknamed by his cycling peers as the "Iceman" because of his poker-face demeanor on the bike.

Scott retired from racing in 2007, racing his final year as a pro with the BMC Cycling Team. Scott is currently a Master Level Cycling Coach with The Peaks Coaching Group, and the National Brand Ambassador for Speedplay pedals.

Suspension

He was suspended for one year due to contaminated supplements which contained the banned substance - 19-norandrosterone. These supplements were bought off the shelf of the local Boulder, Colorado supplement store. It was later proven by lab results from the same batch of supplements that the banned substance was not labeled on the product container.[1][2][3]
