Rupesh Paul is an Indian film director, screenwriter and poet from Kerala, India.

Early writings

Rupesh Paul published an anthology of poems in Malayalam—Penkutti Oru Raashtramaanu (“A Girl, a nation it is”) by DC Books.[1] It was awarded the Changampuzha Literary Award.[2]

Career

Paul joined the newspaper Malayala Manorama at age twenty-two.[3] He authored numerous scoops counting the investigative reports on the deaths of Azhikodan Raghavan, the former Communist Party of India leader and Nandita, the Malayalam poet.[4][citation needed]

New projects

Paul is directing an upcoming project Kamasutra 3D about which he says:

3D appears the best format to portray classic erotica, but it was hardly experimented till recently. It had remained as a tool to give the biggest jolt in horror movies. Nobody predicted that the Chinese stereoscopic porn would be a major hit. In fact, it outgrossed 3D film Avatar. In the film, we are trying to give an extra dimension to the sexual positions described in the ancient treatise on the art of love.

His short story Drakulayude Ezhaamathe Vadhu” has been developed into a novel, Saint Dracula in 2010. The recent motion picture Saint Dracula, directed by Rupesh himself,[5] is a cinematic adaptation of the same.

Saint Dracula 3D[13] 2011 Biz TV Networks Rupesh Paul Mitch Powell, Patricia Duarte, Daniel Shayler, Faith Watkins, Suzanne Roche, Anna Passey English Sherin Catherine Sreevalsan J Menon Saint Dracula is an upcoming 3D movie by Rupesh Paul. Produced by BizTV Network - the producers of Dam 999.[14]

My Dracula is not the archetypal king of the vampires, but a saint. An ardent lover, he sacrifices his immortality to his ladylove as a wedding gift. In the original myth, he may be vicious, but in my film, he is the catastrophic lead of a love story

Saint Dracula 3D is absolutely different from the usual Count Dracula movies. This movie depicts the rebirth of Dracula for love and not for vengeance. The director of the movie, Rupesh Paul is trying to create a new image for the legendary antagonist, Dracula who is dignified through the movie. Unlike Bram Stroker's 'Dracula', which sends a chill through the spine, Saint Dracula portrays a different dimension of Dracula, who holds a hero figure in the nation of Romania and is christened as a saint in the Orthodox congregation of the nation."
